Such a cow

Damn, I’ve just remembered the metal object in the photo is a sheep. And it was such a good blog heading. Ah, might as well leave it …

Wow, I wrote so many words yesterday, I don’t have many left for today. I’m also (still) feeling strung out by all the recent drama in my life. I find it hard to think straight … I just want to sleep … but I can’t sleep … so I take Unisom … and can’t wake up properly in morning … so I stagger around in a daze all day … Repeat …

But I digress … back to the cow/sheep.

I went to a birthday lunch for a school mum yesterday. Her gift was Shaun The Sheep (above). He’s a snazzy little number for her backyard. The cameraderie during the celebration reminded me that women aren’t always each other’s worst enemies. Mostly they’re each other’s best friends. It’s lovely and it restores my faith in humanity. Especially when the sun is shining and the Diet Coke flows …

Later in the afternoon, I got a text from an old friend, saying: “The week you have had – well – words fail me … It is horrible and awful and appalling and I wish I could be there to drink wine and right wrongs. I admire your stance: your courage, tenacity and above all your determination to preach truth and be true to yourself. Please don’t let the turkeys – or jerkeys – wear that down. You and your friendship are a blessing to me and to many.”

Isn’t that nice?

What restores your faith in humanity?
