Jessica’s diet shock
She didn’t know “chicken of the sea” was tuna, now Jessica Simpson – the new celebrity spokesperson for Weight Watchers – has told USA Today: “I didn’t realize it (the weight) didn’t all come off with the baby.”
Duh.
Jessica has been holding Weight Watchers meetings in her home with her mother, Tina, and 12 other friends. By late August, Jessica says they had collectively lost 160 pounds.
“It’s nice to do it together and motivate each other.”
Other than monitoring her food intake, Jessica has been doing about 60 minutes of cardio exercise a day, mostly walking, in preparation for getting in shape.
“My boobs are way too big to run at this point. I’m just walking.”
Jessica admits losing the baby weight has been tough. “I’m not a supermodel,” she says. “My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel. I’m just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiancé and herself.”
US magazine has since reported Jessica confirming: “I’m 10 pounds away from my pre-baby size.”
But TMZ reckons these pics suggest otherwise.
Russell’s cruel move
On the day Geri Halliwell confirmed she was dating Russell Brand to the UK newspaper The Sun, the comedian checked into a hotel with another woman.
When asked on Monday if she and Russell were an item, Geri said: “Yes — it has been a whirlwind.”
At 8.30pm that night, Russell arrived at a hotel in Suffolk with a dark-haired woman, introducing her to staff as “my beloved Amy”.
Reports The Sun: “They skipped down into the foyer just before 11am yesterday before heading out for a stroll. They resembled honeymooners as they dawdled arm in arm. At one point scruffily-dressed Brand gently caressed Amy’s bottom as they walked along a street. The comic zig-zagged across the country to meet his willowy pal, thought to be in her 20s. After a Sunday night gig in Bath, Somerset, he headed to Suffolk in a chauffeur-driven Mercedes with blacked-out windows and a disabled parking badge on the dashboard. He enjoyed a picnic with Amy in the grounds of Bury’s cathedral.
The Sun has photos of Russell and Amy’s romantic day together, all played out for the cameras, which seems a bit cruel to poor Geri. But pretty much par for the course when you tangle with Rusty Rockets.
Claire is having “a human”
Homeland star Claire Danes is keeping mum on the sex of her baby.
“It is a human being, which is a profound relief,” the actress joked while appearing on Live! with Kelly on Tuesday
Her “human” is due early next year – daddy is Hugh Dancy – and Danes is “feeling good and balanced”.
Claire’s pregnancy has not be written into her storyline on the show. “I’ve been pretty fortunate thus far — we’re in the middle of filming our second season and luckily we’ve been able to conceal it,” she told host Kelly Ripa.
“It’s now getting to the point where I’m looking a little knocked up. They haven’t written it in, but they’ll be able to manipulate it in post and do some CGI trickery and make Carrie not so pregnant.”
It’s weird, I still can’t compute Claire not being with Ben Lee. Move on, Alana.
Kate Hudson’s crazy workouts to shift baby weight
This is why I am not interested in following celebrity diets/fitness regimes … Kate Hudson has revealed to Star Magazine that she spent six hours a day working out to lose her baby weight.
‘I devoted six hours a day to a vigorous workout regime. I would do 45 or 55 minutes of cardio then an hour of Pilates or yoga, three times a day.’
No thanks.
Is Amanda going to jail?
The only celebrity to bingle more cars than Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes, has been charged with two more counts of hit-and-run.
The charges relate to alleged incidents in April and August, a spokesperson for the L.A. City Attorney’s Office has confirmed.
TMZ reported that on April 10, Amanda was driving a rental car when it slammed into a vehicle on a Los Angeles freeway and then fled the scene, according to the alleged victim. On August 4, a different woman claimed Amanda’s BMW ran up the back of her car and drove off without exchanging information.
The actress faces up to one year in jail if convicted on both of the counts. Her court date is set for September 27.
This is her second round of car-related charges.
In June, Amanda was charged with driving under the influence after an April 6 arrest in West Hollywood. “I don’t drink,” she tweeted at the time to the Barack Obama presidential campaign. “Please fire the cop who arrested me.”
