That’s questionable

I make a lot of decisions based on very shaky logic.

For example, I would love to buy a new apartment one day, but I am nervous about the quality of building work after reading so many horror stories.

However, I have decided one company is trustworthy because an ex-school mum works for them.

I’m not sure that once knowing someone nice in the marketing department stacks up as a reason to trust a builder.

I also took delivery of a very small but very expensive box of Drool products yesterday.

Drool is Dr Chris Brown’s pet care brand. I had lunch with him many years ago, just the two of us, at the MCA Cafe. I was wooing him to be Woman’s Day’s resident vet. Every single person in the restaurant stared in awe as he strode across the room to sit with meeeeeee.

Drool! Lol!

Seemed like a lovely bloke, so his pet care brand must be excellent and totally worth the price tag.

There’s that shaky logic again.

I will let you know how his probiotic treats work on Charlie the Moodle’s irritable bowel.

I am also very easily led when it comes to freebies. I thought I’d finalised my Drool order when the website announced that if I spent three more cents I would get a free lick mat. I have no idea what a lick mat is, but I was so excited that it was free that I ordered another $13 bag of dog treats.

I had to collect the Drool package from a locker at my local post office, so I combined that chore with taking the dogs for a walk.

Taking the dogs for a walk is an even bigger chore. One is incredibly slow and the other drags you along at lightning speed. It’s not easy on the shoulder blades or patience.

The dogs are also funny about textures, so they went on strike when we got to the shopping centre. I had to slide them across the floor to the locker, all four legs starfished out, evoking giggles from passing shoppers.

The lick mat is now sitting on my benchtop, awaiting an investigation into its purpose. Maybe you put peanut butter onto it or something?

Speaking of peanut butter, my sandwich blog post earlier this week has possibly provoked the most discussion on the HouseGoesHome Facebook page on record (a very low bar), including back and forth contemplation on whether peanut butter is better on fresh bread or toast (you can’t beat it on a fresh crust in my opinion).

I’m off to the Elvis movie tonight and I have an early start tomorrow, so I might not have time to blog. I’ll wish you a happy weekend now, just in case.

PS things are getting even fruitier in my Facebook feed, there’s an avocado now …
