Hello! I’m back from my blogging break.
But before I tell you about my adventures, do you remember my blog post about seeing a man covered in blood on the Wakehurst Parkway?
Well, the mystery has been solved.
And it was not what I was expecting.
Apparently a 13-year-old boy was using a toilet in the amenities block in Middle Creek Reserve when he allegedly saw a man peering into the stall.
According to the Northern Beaches Advocate: “The boy sought assistance from his father who was nearby and the man was confronted at the scene. The disturbance attracted the attention of bystanders who were at the reserve and passing on the Narrabeen Lagoon trail.
“As a crowd began to gather, word of the man’s alleged actions began to spread and as the threat of mob justice began to unfold, he fled onto the Wakehurst Parkway with a bloodied face, stopping traffic in the middle of the road.”
That traffic included my car. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I stared the man right in the eye and fretted that I didn’t do anything to help him.
The ambulance in front of me was coincidental. The man apparently disappeared into an unknown car as the sound of sirens filled the air.
Investigations by police led them to the rock pool at Collaroy Beach the next day where a 62-year-old was arrested and taken away in front of shocked onlookers.
My friend and ex sister in law Deb was the sleuth who solved the mystery. She sent me a link to the news story last week.
So disturbing, in so many ways.
In happier news I will have a holiday blog post for you tomorrow.
Today will be spent back at the grindstone – I am on duty for two days on the corporate communications festive shutdown roster.
Song of the day doesn’t seem appropriate.
