How was your weekend?
Mine was wonderfully uneventful.
I had a quiet Friday night at home.
I went for a walk with friends on Saturday morning. Then I went to BCF to buy new reef shoes (more about that in a later blog post), then I did some online shopping for new walking shoes because mine have lost almost all their tread.
I packed my suitcase for a holiday I’m having at some point in the distant future, because I was inspired by the new reef shoes and I’m weird.
I took the eldest and his birthday boy bestie to a Middle Eastern BYO called Wafire for dinner on Saturday night and it was sooooooooooo good.
We had babaganoush with mixed bread, potato harra tossed in lemon garlic herb sauce, cauliflower tahina with grapes and pomegranate and pinenuts and a mixed platter chicken shish, lamb kafta and lamb backstrap with hummus.

Nom, nom, nom.

And then for dessert we had a baklava sandwich of ice cream with Persian pashmak. Bliss..
Sunday started with a few walks with friends, followed by another round of whale watching on Avalon Headland with a side of fish tacos.

Sadly there were no whales to be seen, but it was a spectacular winter’s day and we had a lovely time sitting in the sun.
Then DD made me a roast! Winner, winner, lamb dinner!
Wishing it wasn’t Monday already …
