Rack off Harry

I am having rage management issues at the moment and Harry Fong is really setting me off.

Harry is running for political office with the Trumpet of Patriots party. I loathe the Trumpet of Patriots party.

I do not like the name. I do not like what the party stands for. I’m horrified by its hateful yellow ads being splashed all over the media.

Its policies include launching an investigation into government spending, cutting immigration, establishing high-speed rail networks, exiting the Paris Agreement, getting the ‘woke agenda’ out of schools, and exiting the World Health Organization, United Nations and World Economic Forum.

In other words, Trump Down Under.

Harry has sent me four unsolicited text messages in the past week, which is four too many.

The messages do not include an opt-out option, meaning you cannot unsubscribe. Blocking the number doesn’t work either.

Stories about how to stop being spammed by Harry are going off on news websites …

The unfortunate answer is that you can’t make him stop.

What he’s doing should be illegal. Political parties shouldn’t be allowed to send you unsolicited text messages with no way of stopping the barrage:

But it’s legal for some unfathomable reason. And I recoil with disgust every time one pings on my phone.

So do thousands of other Aussies who are being spammed.

Here are three he’s sending out …

The fourth one decries the One Nation Party, which is ironic.

I want to reply to Harry – above – and tell him to fark off, but that would just be personally satisfying as he’s sending them through fake numbers.

I am currently contemplating spamming his email account, which is Harry.Fong@trumpetofpatriots.org

It also disgusts me to think how much money is being wasted on the spam texts.

According to ad tracking services, Trumpet of Patriots has spent more than any other party on political advertising this year, including over $6m on Google and Youtube and at least $13.8m on TV and print advertising. The company has also laid out almost a million dollars on Snapchat ads, more than all other parties combined.

Shameful.

Although, I was heartened to see that Mark Aldridge – a Trumpet of Patriots candidate in the South Australian seat of Makin – has resigned from the party as a result of it.

Aldridge said he “[does] not support various aspects of the upper management actions”, including the party’s use of SMS marketing.

Have you been spammed by Harry? How do you feel about it?

  1. The only time I’ve smiled during this election lead up was watching Gruen Nation last night. My most interesting moment was completing Build a Ballot and learning the party I’m most aligned to is Legalise Pot (even though my thoughts on the legalisation of pot was not one of the questions). And thanks for making Rage Management a thing – Anger Management is soooo pre-peri-menopause.

    1. I didn’t do the build a ballot thing … I somehow avoided voting for the pot party, but that senate line-up was tough … I ran out of options after about three
