I had the unexpected pleasure of dinner with DD last night. He was on his way home from the airport and offered to take me to see Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
He saw it in Melbourne on Sunday afternoon and loved it so much he wants to watch it again together (he also thinks it would cheer cranky me up).
The timeline was pretty tight and I was pretty tired, so I suggested a quick dinner instead, with a movie date to follow on the weekend.
So we wandered up the street with the doggos and shared a pizza alfresco at a local joint. It was SOOOOO GOOD.

I talked DD into the Prawn & Nduja Pizza, which featured a tomato base, fior di latte cheese, prawns, spicy pork nduja, char-grilled zucchini and mint. Nom, nom, nom. Luckily DD wasn’t very hungry after eating afternoon tea at Melbourne Airport, so I got to scoff most of it.

I also ordered a limoncello Mojito, which was very refreshing.
I know, I know, it was only Tuesday. But I have an event-free week due to the Regent cruise information night stuff up and having to turn down an invitation to a gin launch on Thursday due to hosting my body corporate meeting, so I thought bugger it.
The dogs drove me mad during our meal, whining and begging to be patted by everyone who walked past.
I noted to DD that I might spend lots of time sitting there in the future if he dumped me, as it seemed like a very good way to pick up.
We joked about how a friend calls it the “God forbid” scenario when discussing hypothetical things.
“If we should break up … God forbid …”
“If something should happen to you … God forbid …”
Then I gave him a kiss goodnight and headed to the chemist for auburn spray for my grey roots, followed by Woolies for a few groceries. Damn I love living somewhere so close and convenient to things like cafes, chemists, supermarkets and Specsavers. I am very lucky.
I am weary again today because I woke at 5am in a panic about publishing a media release on the latest Tourism Research Australia data, which was embargoed until 12.01am.
I had given the CEO details for LinkedIn, accompanied by a “learn more” link that wasn’t live yet. I doubt he was considering posting at 5am, but better to be safe than sorry.
Yawn. Hello Wednesday, bring on the caffeine, stat!
