Fantasy versus reality

I saw an outfit on the Decjuba website over the weekend and decided I should buy it for myself as a Mother’s Day present as my children didn’t get me anything.

Well, the eldest got me a card and wrote a sweet message in it and I love a sweet message in a card more than anything. So I am really just making excuses for why I bought the outfit.

The outfit is a little left field …

I am not sure why it spoke to me so loudly, but I felt a painful and overwhelming desire to wear double denim in the form of a dark denim shacket and cargo pants.

There was a flash sale ending at midnight and didn’t have time to go to the shops and try on the outfit in person, so I bought it online.

I was dazzled by how it looked on the model. I ignored the fact that Decjuba clearly stated the model was 172cm tall and wearing a size 8. I blithely decided that it would look exactly the same on not-model me, who is 165cm tall and wears a size 14.

The mirror showed I looked like Elvis had been kidnapped from his final tour and sent to work on a denim-clad chain gang.

But the outfit is very comfy, so I’ve decided to keep it, wear it, not look in the mirror and avoid wearing it around DD, who is not a fan of baggy clothes.

Have a great weekend. I am hoping to knock over a sizeable slab of a big project I am working on, so mine will be pretty low key.
