DD and I attended a cruise information session yesterday.
Yep, it was date night.
There was lots of obligatory Champagne, paired with obligatory arancini balls. DD gave me his arancini ball after he discovered it was mushroom. He’s not a mushroom man. I’m a mushroom woman.
We watched lovely videos of Ponant cruises to Antarctica, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and The Kimberley.
I wanted to go on them all.
We may have put a hold on a cabin on a cruise ship that is travelling to none of those places.
Will advise.
Actually, we may have put a hold on two cabins: one with a balcony and one without. The cost difference between one without a balcony and the one with a balcony equates to the price of a return airfare to the destination.
I need to decide how badly I want a balcony. Any thoughts?
We ran into a few friends at the information night from our New Zealand cruise.
They introduced us to a travel agent who they described as being relentless in her pursuit of good deals.
We got her card.
I will be emailing her today and setting her loose on our reservation.
Because we put a hold on cabins last night and are booking our second cruise with Ponant we will get a 10% reduction on our fares and there is the possibility of some very attractive onboard credits.
I felt an intense mixture of trepidation and excitement when I went to bed last night and couldn’t sleep.
Today will be a long one.
Song of the day: Natalie Imbruglia “Torn”
I’ve wondered if a cruise kitchen could cater to all my intolerances
I wouldn’t trust Ponant
