I was feeling a bit off on Tuesday night. I couldn’t get to sleep because the bit offness was roiling around inside me.
I was convinced I had COVID. Half of Sydney seems to have it at the moment.
I woke up yesterday feeling exhausted and funny in the stomach, with a swollen, itchy lip.
Dr Google was no help other than suggesting vitamin B tablets and throwing around words like “allergic contact cheilitis”. I don’t think it’s cheilitis due to the accompanying nausea and fatigue, but who knows.
I self medicated with Nurofen, Clarityne and vitamin B and put sorbolene on my lip.
But, when I tottered to bed last night I was still feeling shattered and sore.
Any thoughts?
I’m pretty sure Kerrie will say it’s because I am run down from doing too much. She will suggest I take it easy, which is very good advice.
But I have trouble taking it easy. It is not my speed. So I had a brief lie down mid-morning then continued work. After cooking dinner I tried to do a bit of Drinks Digest stuff but I was too knackered, so I curled up on the couch and surfed Domain instead, dreaming of retirement on the Northern Beaches.
In other news, the youngest arrived home late on Tuesday for a flying visit and left at lunchtime yesterday, so there wasn’t much quality time together.
It was her first night in my old room and said she didn’t sleep well because it was so hot in there. She finally realised at about 2am that I had the ceiling fan on the winter setting.
There’s a winter setting?
Apparently it just stirs the air as opposed to cooling it.
Who knew?
This morning my lip feels dry but less irritated, so maybe it was an allergic reaction.
I hope it wasn’t to the slider burgers I had at the Viking cruise function. A slider burger allergy would be very blah.
