Yesterday was one of those golden moments when everything seemed right in my world.
Unfortunately, the greater world had a rough time of it, what with people suggesting they had bombs on Albury-bound planes and blokes holding escorts hostage and killing people in Melbourne and upheaval in the Middle East … far out … but in the little bubble I inhabited things were good.
Nothing big or amazing or particularly wonderful happened (other than my ex giving me a hand with my debt issues – actually, that was pretty awesome). It was just small and perfectly formed – filled with love, inspiration, laughter and scones with jam and cream.
The only thing missing was DD. Ohhhhhh how I’m feeling his absence this time around. His latest business trip is far too long.
It was a bit of a day in pictures … Let’s have a flick through the album together …
DD sent me this pic from his last night at the 2017 ASCO Conference … marked with much dancing at The House of Blues in Chicago.
He also sent me this gorgeous pic of his walk back to the hotel afterwards.
I woke up at the crack of dawn and headed to the 2017 Women’s Leadership Symposium in Darling Harbour … where I lost my bearings because they’ve PULLED THE IMAX DOWN without me realising. It was very disconcerting …
I had kid duties to fulfill, so I missed out on having my pic taken with my colleagues and Tara Moss after her speech at the Symposium.
I always love catching the end of the youngest’s skipping training. Wow, they’re fit!
The eldest has art class on a Tuesday, while the youngest trains. She creates the most amazing things in just 90 minutes.
This artwork was based on Brett Whitely’s Starry Night interpretation. An interpretation of an interpretation … She’s not happy with it because it doesn’t “flow” properly.
She also whipped this one up in five minutes flat, so it doesn’t cut her mustard either. After art/skipping pick-up, we headed home so I could whip up pork belly rice paper rolls for dinner before we all settled in front of the heater to watch Masterchef.
