I never scored an invitation to the Logies during my long magazine career. But it feels like I’ve been to the iconic TV event because two of my lovely former colleagues have been attending them for YEARS, so I’ve lived through countless ceremonies vicariously.
Emma has been the editor of TV Week for yonks, while my former art director at Woman’s Day, Jacqui, went on to become art director of the mag.
I’ve been there through the excitement and stress of the lead up to the big night and I’ve heard all the stories in the aftermath.
Emma looked amazing on the red carpet last night, you’d have sworn she was one of the celebs.
And here’s a selection of Instagram shots of the celebs themselves:
There was much chitter chat afterwards about how Molly Meldrum cut short Gold Logie winner Samuel Johnson’s speech with a rambling anecdote about unicycles and swearing and teaching him to be gay. But general agreement seems to be that the incident was one of the things that made the night memorable.
Oh, and the winners were …

Song of the day: Spandau Ballet “Gold”
We popped in and out of the very very long coverage last night, and maybe it was because we didn’t sit through it ALL, but I reckon that the industry awards and the popular votes awards, need to be labeled differently. And the other thing I thought was that the free to air channels might consider upping their game in marketing stuff overseas, cos Foxtel seems to have stolen the talent cos they can make a profit by selling the shows on.
I was sad to see Molly in such a state.
Very sad yes
