Did you watch the Logies?
The biggest thrill of the night was Waleed Aly winning Gold at the 58th Annual TV Week Logie Awards.
The co-host of The Project beat a field that included last year’s Gold Logie winner Carrie Bickmore as well as SBS’s Lee Lin Chin, as well as Grant Denyer, Scott Cam, and Essie Davis.
Here’s a sweet extract from his speech:
“Everyone at home wants to go to sleep, everyone in this room has a night that is about to begin and I know you’re all keen to get back into some stuff … like your first carboydrate in six months.
“I want [to thank] my wife Susan.
“The reality is – a dirty little secret I’ve carried around for a long time – if she had my job, she’d be better at it than me. She is sharper, she is wittier, she is funnier, she is infinitely more charming and likeable.
“She has bigger and more important things to do. Everyone who knows her, knows she changes you, she makes you better.
“They don’t give statuettes to people like that, sadly. But one day, if life’s fair, they might just give her a statue.
“I think it’s fair to say that I never anticipated I would win a Logie. Not in a sort of ‘I thought I’d fall short kind of way’, but I didn’t conceive of this happening. I was more likely to win an AFL grand final in my life than to win a Logie, and I am still hoping for that.”
My favourite outfit from the night had to be the one worn by Lee Lin Chin – there’s a woman who’s prepared to make a statement!!
And here are some fun Instagram photos from the night:

How gorgeous are they all. I would love just once to be all dolled up like that!
I used to dream about going to the Golden Globes as David Duchovny’s date …
