I don’t want to go …

(That’s a Doctor Who reference for the uninitiated. You really need to get initiated – it’s almost as awesome as Kingscliff.)

We are leaving paradise this morning. And I am sad. We will be back for longer next time. Ten days at least.

It is GORGEOUS here, and peaceful (well, some sad would-be hoons tried – and failed – to do burn-outs one night, but generally …) with yummy restaurants and cocktails and two-bedroom ocean-view apartment for sale for $419,000.

And a Witchery. Let’s not forget the Witchery.

We’ve stayed in a lovely two-bedroom at Mantra Salt (click here for more details) and enjoyed many a lovely meal on the breezy balcony. See below.

We haven’t even had time to explore Kingscliff proper, but the beach looks awesome and there’s a fun looking Mexican restaurant.

Less than 10 minutes away are the mixed pleasures of South Tweed’s ugly retail megaplexes and a cinema.

Less than 20 minutes away is Gold Coast Airport.

I think I could be very happy here. I’ve suggested Husband switch his working hours and we become a FIFO family. He could head to the airport after work on Saturday nights, then fly back to Sydney again every Wednesday morning.

Totally doable.

OK, enough with the fantasising – I’m off on my final beach walk.

Where is your favourite Aussie holiday destination?

  1. Hi Alana!
Rachael here (from Rachael’s very extremely bit by bit renovation blog). Living in Murwillumbah, Kingscliff and Cabarita are my local beaches. You MUST visit Cabarita next time. It is amazing. You should also take a drive along the Tweed River and canefields into Murwillumbah just for the scenery. I guarantee an instant drop in blood pressure! It’s only about 20 mins from Kingscliff.
Pleased to hear you had a wonderful time!
