What are the odds of both your child and your dog requiring medical assistance for eye infections on the same day?
If you’re HouseGoesHome those odds are very high!
The eldest’s eye is an absolute shocker. The infection marred the last week of their holiday in France, which is so disappointing.
I booked an appointment for 4.15pm yesterday with the GP.
Then we noticed Charlie had a sticky eye. So I booked him an appointment to see the vet at 6.45pm.
The GP took one look at the eldest’s eye and called an eye specialist on the spot. We were sent straight to them for an emergency appointment. Turns out it’s some sort of horrible infection inside the actual eyeball. Eeek.
Weeks of medication and specialist appointments lie ahead.
And Charlie has conjunctivitis in both eyes.
Not a cheap day.
My eye is starting to feel a bit gritty too, but I’m hoping it’s like when one of your kids gets nits and you start scratching on reflex.
OK, it’s time to get up and face applying ointment to the dog’s eyeballs – the vet showed me how to do it last night, blerk, now it’s my turn three times a day for the next seven days.
Can’t wait.
