Catherine & Michael’s love triangle

'He was brilliant': The topic soon changed to her husband's role as Liberace in the HBO film

There’s a bit of a mutual love fest going on between Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas and Matt Damon.

Catherine appeared on The View last week and couldn’t stop talking about her husband’s role as Liberace in Behind The Candelabra.

In particular, his love scenes with Matt, who plays his young live-in lover Scott Thorson.

‘I wouldn’t mind kissing Matt Damon any day of the week,’ she laughed.

Meanwhile, last month, her husband revealed that Matt used his wife for inspiration

‘Matt says when he kissed me, he thought of Catherine. She was very pleased by that,’ Michael told MailOnline. Oooo-er!

Inspiration: While kissing Michael, Matt admitted he was thinking of Catherine Zeta-Jones instead

Johnny says bugger the critics

In character: Johnny plays the role of Native American Tonto in the film

The Lone Ranger may have cost $225 million to make and made a disappointing $19.5 million during it’s opening weekend, not to mention being savaged by the critics, but the film’s star, Johnny Depp, says he doesn’t care as long as his kids enjoyed it.

“To be quite honest I couldn’t give a rats about U.S. journalists’ opinions. What I do care about is my kids’ opinions and they loved it, they loved the ride and maybe they are biased, slightly, but for all purposes my kids were able to forget that it was Daddy five or ten minutes into the film and they enjoyed the ride. The ride itself is incredible and unique, this film, so yeah I trust my kids’ opinions more than the US critics.”

Brooke won’t get her kids back for a year

According to TMZ, it may be up to a year before a judge even considers letting Brooke Mueller having any sort of custody arrangement with her twin sons (fathered by Charlie Sheen).

The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services needs to fulfill five conditions – mandated to prove she is fit and sobert – before she’s even allowed to go back to court to apply for custody.

The most important condition is that she consistently attends AA and NA.

TMZ reports: “She must also obey all of her doctor’s orders and show she can handle the stresses of everyday life without relapsing.”

Brooke is currently only allowed contact with the twins via Skype.

Cory’s touching final message

cory-monteith

While many continue to mourn the death of Cory Monteith, a video has surfaced of the actor sending a personal message to one of his fans. In what seems to be his final appearance on video, Cory tells a fan to stay out of trouble and stay in school. It’s a heartfelt reminder of how much the star loved his fans, even during what many call a difficult time in his life. Watch the video here:

The Glee star recorded the video on a plane from Japan to Vancouver, Us Weekly reports. A flight attendant named Sheila recognized him and asked him to record a quick video for her boyfriend’s daughter, Mallory. As you can see, a smiling Cory was happy to oblige.

Cory’s generosity not only touched fans, but it touched the many people who were honored to work with him. During a sit-down with Jay Leno on Thursday, his Glee co-star Jane Lynch said, “Cory had one of the biggest hearts, a real bright light. He was one of those guys. He knew he was breathing rarefied air — the gift that this wonderful show gave us.”

Lynch also added that Cory once flew across the country “on his own dime” to be with a dying fan whose last wish was to meet him. That love and devotion will be missed by many.

Glee’s tribute to Cory

glee-cast

Glee co-creater Ryan Murphy has given details on how the show will explain Cory Monteith‘s death in an interview with Deadline.

“We will begin shooting in late August the two shows we had already written, so that people can physically go back to work,” Murphy says. “We will then do an episode that will deal with the death of Finn’s character and follow that with a long hiatus. I don’t know exactly when we will come back, and we are trying out best with this attempt at damage control. We are planning a memorial for the cast and crew sometime this week on the Paramount lot.”

He was quick to say that the decision to return to work so soon was made in consultation with Cory’s girlfriend Lea Michele.

“I understand that everyone has their own way of processing grief. Every possible option was explored, and what we did was look to the people who loved Cory, who worked with him most, and specifically Lea. This is what they wanted to do. …. Lea blessed every decision. I told her even I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how to write about the death of someone I love. She wanted people to be together. She and Cory were the young leads of that show, the A story. Lea has been a leader all through this difficult process.”

He also confirmed that the show held an intervention for Cory to convince him to go to rehab in March.

“We socialized and we also fought, because while he was a lovely sweet guy, he was also a leader on the set, a strong personality and the only analogy I can think of is that he felt like an older son to me,” he says. “On one hand, he was thrilled that people wanted to take care of him, though he also felt shame and regret [at the intervention]. We had experts in the room and tried to let him know this was a disease. It was a tough and very emotional day and the last thing he said before he left was, ‘I want to get better.’ And I believed him.”

Murphy said he hopes that the way the show handles Cory’s death will perhaps “save a life”.

“One of the most gratifying things about Glee is that when the show is at its best, it has helped young people and given them information about the human condition that moves and informs them,” Murphy says. “What we’ve been talking about in the writer’s room is that maybe the way we deal with this tragedy might save the life of someone.”

Britney scores a Vegas gig

Britney Spears is gambling on a new career move. The pop singer is reportedly finalizing a deal to headline her own show in Vegas. According to the Las Vegas Sun, Planet Hollywood is giving its theater a $20 million makeover to accommodate Spears, who will kick off her residency in the weeks leading up to New Year’s.

Headlining in Vegas is a time-honored way for artists to make big bucks without the pressure of touring. Spears has a younger audience than the typical Las Vegas headliner, but she’s certainly not slumming it: Celine Dion has been performing at The Colosseum since 2011, and Shania Twain is halfway through a two-year residency at Caesars Palace.

Besides, Britney’s show will reportedly be a whole new animal. Sources describe it to TMZas a “cool, hip, club-like show” that will change frequently — in other words, “not your father’s Shania Twain concert.”

What’s more, staying in Vegas could give Spears some much-needed stability while still allowing her to strut her stuff. RadarOnline says that the singer has received the approval of the judge who is handling her conservatorship.

“The judge was impressed with how happy and excited Britney was. Britney assured Goetz she could handle the stress and felt comfortable with the performance schedule,” says Radar’s source. “Britney won’t be moving to Las Vegas permanently; she’ll perform for several weeks in a row and then have time off. Rehearsals are already underway for the gigs and Britney is heavily involved in the choreography.”

It still makes us a little sad that Britney, a 31-year-old mother of two, requires a judge and a conversatorship (controlled by her father and an attorney) to keep her on the right path. But hey, it’s obviously working, and it’s terrific that she’s strong enough to acknowledge when she needs help. The new show could be another step towards independence: a chance to really take control of her career and her image. We’re with Britney on this one. Viva Las Vegas!

Game of Thrones star banned from local pub

sean-bean

According to The Daily Mail, Sean Bean has been barred from his local pub because of  “rowdy behaviour”.

A regular at The Washington, in North London, said the actor was no longer welcome after he allegedly argued with patrons on a recent visit.

Apparently he “was acting inappropriately — so he was barred.”

Drinking establishments seem to have it in for Sean, two years ago he was stabbed outside a pub in Camden.

Christy’s new Calvin ad

Christy Turlington proves that age is just a number in a tasteful shot for Calvin Klein Underwear, taken by Mario Sorrenti

Twenty-five years after she first stripped off for a Calvin Klein ad, American supermodel Christy Turlington has returned to her roots, appearing in her undies at age 44 as the face of the brand’s new women’s underwear range.

Christy originally became the face of the popular brand’s Eternity fragrance before modelling their underwear range in the ’90s.

Wow, she looks incredible. Apparently it’s all down to yoga. Can’t think it would do the same for me …

Heidi flashes AGAIN

heidi-klum-topless

It seems to have become de rigueur for Heidi Klum to appear topless on Instagram (and go on holidays ALL the time … nooooo, I’m not jealous).

The gorgeous 40-year-old has posted a photo of herself wearing nothing but sunnies and bikini bottoms while hugging a palm tree on holidays on the island of Bora Bora in Tahiti.

Modern Family star weds

Jesse-Tyler-Ferguson-Justin-Mikita1

Jesse Tyler Ferguson tied the knot with longtime boyfriend Justin Mikita in New York on Saturday.

“Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita tied the knot yesterday in downtown New York City,” his rep said in a statement. “Tony Kushner officiated the ceremony.”

There were more than 200 guests, including US Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi, Jesse’s co-stars Julie Bowen,Ty Burell and Eric StonestreetJerry O’ Connell and wife Rebecca Romijn, and fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi.

“What a happy day!” Lakshmi tweeted before the ceremony. “I love you both!!”

Sofia Vergara couldn’t attend as she was travelling in Mikonos, Greece, but tweeted: “Thinking of you! Wishing you the best in this beautifull adventure!”

Previously, the actor explained the choice of wedding location: “We wanted to get married in New York, because that’s where it’s legal, so we want to support the state that’s in support of us.”

The happy couple run a not-for-profit organisation called Tie the Knot, which sells designer bow ties and uses the proceeds to advocate for marriage equality.

The night before the wedding, guests attended a rehearsal dinner at Harding’s Restaurant (below) in the Flatiron District.

Immaculate: Guests were treated to a special candle light meal in the old world setting

The wedding itself was held at 82 Mercer Space in SoHo, Manhattan, a 19th century loft space, featured exposed brick walls and 14-foot ceilings.

Classic: The 14-foot ceilings and cast exposed brick walls were surely large enough to fit 200 guests
