Wow it’s been a huge seven days. This time last week, my new job had just been announced, with Mumbrella trumpeting “Alana House to edit iVillage weeks after getting sack for protesting Woman’s Day story”
Since then, the Kathleen Folbigg crusade has gone crazy with these three articles (and a radio interview on 2HD – go Helen!) …
Did she do it? Why Kathleen Folbigg may not have killed her four babies
New science would let Folbigg go free
Crusade to free Kathleen Folbigg
And there are more exciting developments in the works … will advise …
Meanwhile, I’ve been courting controversy on other fronts.
My work at ivillage this week includes:
Two Chrissie Swan smoking articles including Health Chief Defends Chrissie Swan and “Would I have paid $55K for the Chrissie Swan smoking photos?”, the latter of which earned me a “Disgraceful!” from @alyxei1.
I also wrote a blog asking: School excursions to Athens? Have parents gone mad? And commenter Julie Ann mused: “Expectations of what a kid should have/experience as part of a regular childhood are getting higher and higher. Question is, are kids getting happier and happier? nicer and nicer? smarter and smarter? I work at a school and what I can tell you is that the lines for kids to take their meds are getting longer and longer.” Eek.
I was admonished and told not to “write trash about a principal” when I panicked about schools introducing an 8am start, with You thought getting the kids out of the house by 9 was hard. Imagine this
I waved the flag for kids ingesting germs and confessed: “I ate a lizard when I was a toddler. Or was it a cockroach? Let’s say it was a lizard, way less gross. Whatever it was, it didn’t do me any harm …” in an article called Should birthday candles be banned in childcare centres?
I blogged LOTS of celebrity gossip – in a lovely gallery – that you can read by clicking here.
And finally, at HouseGoesHome I offended myself by looking in the mirror at the hairdresser’s and discovering a wattle on my neck – the turkey kind, not the yellow fluffy kind.
How’s your week been? Offended anyone? Discovered a wattle?
